Appleby 2nd's v Edenhall

On Sunday we faced Appleby 2nds in a pre season friendly as we build towards the start of the season. On a warm sunny day, we won the toss and elected to bat first. After a slow start against some tight bowling, Jonny Kidd (53 retired) and Noah Hoyle (53) then put together a good partnership to lay a platform. Callum MacDonald (18), Andrew Hetherington (18) and Ben Hoyle (10) then added some late, quick runs as we finished on 195-4 from our 40 overs. We then took to the field and bowled Appleby out for 71. The wickets were shared out, with 7 different bowlers used, with Kidd (4-5) the standout performer. A pleasing all-round performance (no dropped catches!) with everyone getting an opportunity as we no look forward to the league starting.
